We spent two nights here over the weekend for our anniversary and would definitely return. The staff were superb, especially Logan, who was an absolute pleasure. The bar had a good choice of evening and bar meals at reasonable prices. Breakfast was very good, freshly cooked, and included a hot vegetarian option as well as continental choices. We were warmly welcomed on arrival, and our room was clean, a good size, lovely and warm throughout our stay.

We only stayed one night and wished we could have made it longer. The restaurant dinner was fantastic, especially my Angus burger with Mac and cheese. The staff were very friendly. The hotel has the feel of a real castle, and our room had exposed stone and a closed-off fireplace. It was quiet and cosy, so we slept really well. Highly recommend staying here.

The room was large, with great views and a comfortable bed. Staff were very friendly, and the food we had was tasty. We spent two nights and really enjoyed it. It was quiet at that time of year, but I’d certainly come back.

We stayed on Sunday night using an itison voucher for the room, breakfast and a bottle of prosecco. They let us swap it for red wine. The staff were great and we loved the hotel. The bar was cheaper than expected, and there was free pool. Definitely would come back.

The hotel looked impressive even in the rain, with an old, lived-in feel that was cosy. We were three couples staying two nights with breakfast. At 2:30pm there was no one around, just a note saying the staff member was sick, so we waited in the lounge until someone arrived at 3. Dawn, I think, was a breath of fresh air. She checked us in, served drinks and made us feel very welcome. Rooms 4 and 5 were beautifully furnished, as you’d expect in a castle. We had room 6, which felt more like servants’ quarters. To make matters worse, the TV kept turning on by itself. We reported it twice, but nothing was done. The whole place was exceptionally clean, and the staff were very friendly. Dinner was good, wholesome food, around 3/5, with burgers, fish and chips, pie and similar choices. Breakfast had a range of options, from a full Scottish to fruit and yoghurt. We’ll stay again next year, but we’ll pass on room 6.
