We came for a Man Utd weekend trip in February. The location was great, with a nice area around it and a train station, Starbucks, shops, 24-hour McDonald's and a nearby sports bar. The hotel staff were welcoming and very friendly. The rooms were the letdown: they were too small, and the beds we'd been quoted weren't what we got, so we had to bunk up. The bathrooms were tiny too. I've stayed in bigger Holiday Inns. It was a nice enough experience and I'd come back, but only for a larger or single room.

Josh and Pam deserve a special mention. They were professional, friendly and made check-in and our requests easy. The Holiday Inn itself was clean and comfortable, and the location was perfect. I'd happily stay there again.

I've stayed here more than once, mainly because the included breakfast has a big range of choices. There's also a late-night menu and a bar beside reception with a few options. The clean, modern rooms are comfortable, and every staff member I've met has been polite, helpful and smiling. It represents good value for the IHG brand, with an NCP car park, a Sainsburys and Stockport train station right next door. Whenever I'm in Stockport, this is my hotel of choice.

The staff are all really friendly, and the hotel is lovely and very clean. But the rooms get unbelievably hot, and the air conditioning doesn't cool them enough. The duvets are so noisy that my son kept waking us as he moved around trying to cope with the heat. We were awake for more than half the night.

Breakfast was a real plus, with plenty of choice and a separate gluten-free section that made mornings easy and tasty. We had a fantastic stay at the Holiday Inn Express in Stockport. The staff were welcoming, the rooms comfortable and clean, and the atmosphere relaxed. The location is handy too, with Stockport train station right outside and shops and restaurants a short walk away. It's very good value for the price and a great base for exploring the area.
