The room had clearly been decorated recently and was clean and smart, with a comfortable bed, good pillows and a decent shower. I liked the purple bathroom light for nighttime trips. We’ve stayed at plenty of Premier Inns, and this one is a good one. It’s just off the A19, north of Middlesbrough, and there’s lots of parking. The staff were incredibly helpful and accommodating. Breakfast was good, with table service for the hot food, and there’s a Toby Carvery next door.

Breakfast was hot, fresh, and offered plenty of choice. The dining staff were friendly too. The reception team were efficient and so welcoming that I felt at home straight away. I’d recommend it for business stays.

Clean and tidy, and the staff are great. It’s a Premier Inn, after all. Breakfast is good, though the Toby Carvery pub means there’s no meal deal. Not the end of the world.

Breakfast was lovely, with a good range of food, including allergy-friendly options, and the staff were very helpful. The replacement room was refurbished, smaller than the first one but comfortable and perfectly adequate. With four of us, air conditioning would have been welcome. They provided a fan, though it was noisy to sleep with. The facilities were nice, too. The receptionist was incredibly helpful when I explained the state of our first room and kindly moved us. She seemed to know about its problems already and wasn’t surprised. Check-in itself had been easy, but the family room we were first given was large, dusty and worn out. The bathroom had dirt and dust on the floor and walls, and there was mould on the net curtains. The bedside tables were falling apart, with screws exposed. The extra camp bed was hard, lumpy and higher at one end. Both kids refused to sleep on it, so I took it to keep the peace. After the worst night’s sleep, I pulled back the sheets and saw that the bed was completely ruined, with torn lining and broken springs. It shouldn’t have been in use. Our only real letdown was that first room. Honestly, rooms in that condition shouldn’t be used until they’re refurbished, especially at the same price. We’d just had a fantastic stay at Premier inn worksop, so we had similar expectations and were disappointed. The staff seemed aware of the issues and disappointed too, as if they’d raised them with corporate but nothing had changed. I hope someone eventually listens.

The room was immaculate, and the reception staff were both professional and friendly from the moment we arrived. Breakfast and the team serving it were lovely. Every member of staff was great. I’d be proud to have them on my own team, and we were delighted with our stay. Thank you.
