The food was out of this world. The pizzas were the best we’ve had in a long time, and the BBQ burger was mouth-watering. There was an excellent beer selection too. The bar area with its roaring fires is perfect, and the staff were welcoming and friendly. I wouldn’t change a thing. We live three hours away, but we’ll come back when passing through. Well done to all.

We both chose the wood fired pizza, and it was amazing value, much better than the chain restaurants. The bar and service staff were excellent, and there’s ample parking. I met a friend here as it’s halfway between our two places in England, and it’s an ideal meeting spot, less than 10 minutes from A50. We’ll use it again for food and meet-ups.

We couldn’t stay for dessert because we were short on time, but we’d definitely recommend stopping here. The Sunday lunch was generous and delicious, and the wood fired pizza our children had was just as good. We stopped at The Huntsman while passing through Cheadle on our way home on a Sunday. Staff greeted us warmly and showed us to the lodge, which had lovely festive decor. We didn’t stay overnight, so I can’t comment on the rooms.

The food was out of this world, and breakfast was 10/10 too. It’s a shame, as that part of the stay was amazing. We stayed last night at this pub, the huntsman Cheadle. I’d give the room only two stars. It was clean but very old and needs a lot of work to bring it up to standard. The shower wasn’t hot, so we couldn’t shower, and the walls and carpets have clearly seen their time.

The pizza was lovely, but I don’t think I’ll come back. We’d booked for 2.15pm, and there were only three tables ahead of us. It took 15 minutes to get drinks and 45 minutes for our pizzas, the only pizzas on the menu. The fries arrived 20 minutes before the pizzas. I asked how much longer the pizzas would take and was told five minutes. Another 10 minutes passed before two arrived, then five more before the third. By then we’d finished our drinks. We went to the bar for more, but with only one member of staff, we waited 10 minutes without being served and left.
