The staff were great, friendly and efficient, and the room was fine. A couple of practical notes: food service ends at 9 pm and the bar closes at 10. The TV channel choice was poor. It’s on a business park, and the parking area is large, but there’s little space for long vans. Trucks and buses aren’t welcome. I couldn’t find anywhere to back in without leaving the front eight feet sticking out into the road. It also takes a while to get here from the motorway, with stretches at 30 and the much-loved 20 mph.

The bed was really comfortable, and the staff were amazing and helpful. It’s in a good spot, with plenty of shops and places to eat nearby. The Wi-Fi wasn’t great, and the hall carpets looked like they needed a clean or replacement.

The kids loved finding the bag of sweets and little card left in our room for Halloween. It was a thoughtful touch they’ll remember. We found our room easily and it was spot on, and every staff member we dealt with was cheerful, positive and so helpful. I can’t remember everyone’s names, but there’s nothing negative I could say about them. I was really happy with our choice of hotel for a family stay. I’d highly recommend it and will stay again when I visit family.

Reception isn’t very accessible for me in a wheelchair. The counters are so high that I have to speak over them. If I’m having a good day and can walk a little with my crutch, it’s fine. I like being able to go out for a cigarette on my own, but one of the doors isn’t automatic and is difficult to get through in my chair. I’m here with my son, who’s my carer, for my aunt’s funeral. Accessible rooms were booked, so we had a twin room and will move to an accessible one tomorrow, Monday 27/10, the day of the funeral. Reception said we could leave our packed cases and housekeeping would move them for us. I used to be a housekeeper, so I know it’s hard work, but our room wasn’t clean. There was something on the toilet seat that I had to clean off myself, the area around the tea tray was dirty, and I had to clean the kettle and cups before using them. I found dust along the edges of the room and bathroom. There were bits behind and under the tea tray, old coffee stains, and lots of dirty marks on the carpet and chair seat. It’s too far for me to leave one building and cross the road to the main building where reception is. My son doesn’t like to complain, and when our key card stopped working on the second day, he had to go get replacements while I waited in the corridor. I hope we don’t have the same issues in the next room, especially after coming back from the funeral. I have pictures. Maybe the hotel where I worked kept a higher standard of cleanliness. I don’t usually stay at Premier Inn, I’ve stayed at Holiday Inn Express for years without problems. We chose this one because my family are five minutes up the road, and I didn’t feel right staying in my aunt’s bungalow. I’ll judge it after we move rooms, and hope this was a one-off.

The restaurant made a fantastic cooked breakfast, and the hotel and restaurant staff were extremely friendly and courteous. When a power problem left my room in darkness, the hotel staff moved me to another room quickly.
