I've always found a space in the car park, though it can get busy and is quite dark at night. It's free, at least. We return because the location works for us, and the welcome has always been friendly. The room was clean, with the warm, comfortable bed and pillows you can generally count on at Premier Inn. Compared with other Premier Inns I've stayed in, this one feels more dated, but the rates are usually lower. The family rooms seem better kept than the standard rooms I've had, which could do with a refurb, especially the old carpets and bathroom fittings. It's a familiar budget hotel option.

Cleanliness mattered most to us, and our room was clean. The decor was older but in reasonable shape, despite what we'd read about it needing redecoration. It was spacious, with a comfortable bed and pillows. The bathroom was a good size, with a bath and overhead shower, and the soft towels dried well. We were welcomed warmly and had everything explained when we checked in. We were very happy with Premier Inn at Swindon North.

A couple of power sockets near the bed would have been useful. Otherwise, the room was huge and neat and clean. The hotel is conveniently just off the A419, about a ten-minute drive from Swindon city centre.

I've stayed at Premier Inns all over the UK for years on business, and this was without doubt the worst one I've been to. The room was old and dated, with marked walls, pitted shower taps and toilet handle, and a very old, discoloured shower curtain. We could hear the people above through the noisy ceiling. There was only one very old towel, even though the room was booked for two.

Of the three Premier Inns in Swindon, this felt the most affordable and homely. I stayed two nights while travelling through the country. It's a bit dated, but it works, and the rooms were very neat and clean. The towels are worn and need replacing. There's a good number of clothes hangers, unlike at most inns, and the staff were delightful. WiFi was slow but had a strong signal. Parking is ample, including for electric cars and disabled guests, but remember to register your vehicle at reception. The decking is noisy, so if you're a light sleeper I'd suggest an upper-floor room. You can hear the squeaks when contractors or guests leave in the early hours. There's a lovely pub beside it. I'd recommend staying here if you're in Swindon and need somewhere to rest.
