The staff were so welcoming and polite, and breakfast had both continental choices and a full hot option for £14. We found the rooms cosy, warm, and filled with lovely antique furniture. There were lots of beautiful places to sit with a book and a glass of wine. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to anyone stopping in Tain.

The manager and owner was engaging and knew a lot, and the food was good. We had a quiet room with great facilities, and the Glenmorangie distillery is very close by. Breakfast was a good start to the day. We loved our short one-night stay.

The room was spacious, and I loved the antique furniture. We had two delicious meals at good prices, and breakfast was lovely in the sunny dining room, served by a friendly member of staff. The staff worked really hard throughout. We had a positive experience from the start and wished we'd stayed longer. Mansfield castle was a very pleasant surprise after some of the negative comments, which seemed unwarranted. We enjoyed our stay very much.

Dinner was good, but breakfast was very basic, so you could skip that option. The old castle setting was appealing and made for a cool experience. It also has a nice lawn and is close to Dunrobin castle, which is a must-visit place.

We had a New Year's Eve meal here and couldn't fault the excellent food. The menu had a good range of choices, the staff were very nice, and there was great car parking.
