The Tudor House Hotel

The high street is a lovely setting, and the bar/lounge was virtually empty. Service was friendly. I ordered Cumberland sausage with bubble and squeak and chunky chips. The food was okay, neither bad nor great, just very bland. The chips were probably the best part. Not trying to be negative, that's just how it was. See picture provided. £24 for a pint and lunch. The clientele was older.

We popped into the Tudor house just before 2:30pm today, as we often do when visiting Tewksbury. I was the only person at the bar, but the barmaid blanked me at first. When she eventually acknowledged me, I asked if they were still serving food because we only wanted sandwiches. She said she'd check with the chef, then came back to say no, he had a big table and wasn't serving any more food on a Saturday afternoon. I was speechless. After visiting for over five years, I don't think they deserve our custom. We won't be back in a hurry.

There isn't a straight wall in sight in this lovely historic hotel, with history throughout the place. The staff were very pleasant and accommodating, and the food was good.

There are lots of little touches that make a stay nicer, and the historic hotel is very comfortable. Parking in the car park is limited, but you can leave your car on the road overnight, so it's not really a problem. A small fridge in the room would have been useful.
