The Shirley

Breakfast was a real treat, with pastries, a full English, different egg options and pancakes, so there was something for everyone. The house cats and dachshunds gave the place a lovely personal touch, and the outside parking and upper decking were great extras. I had a wonderful stay at The Shirley in Torquay. Sophie was lovely, friendly and welcoming, and made me feel at home as soon as I arrived. The living room was cosy, with a huge TV that was perfect for a movie on a rainy day. The rooms were spacious, the beds comfortable and the hot showers decent. A fantastic experience, and I'd highly recommend it!

Sophie and Alex were amazing, and all the places they recommended to eat were spot on. It was my birthday while we were there, and coming back to find banners Sophie had put up was a fantastic surprise. We had the most amazing stay at the shirley, with nothing negative to say. The room at this beautiful Victorian villa was inviting and had everything we needed. Breakfast had plenty of choice and was always cooked perfectly. Sophie & Alec were wonderful hosts, always ready to help. It's a great location, with plenty to do and only a short walk to the harbour. Thanks to Sophie & Alec for a wonderful stay. We'll definitely be back and would highly recommend it. A* all round.

We got there late in the evening, but after contacting Alec and Sophie, we were able to get into the hotel and our room. They made us feel very welcome, and we enjoyed a lovely freshly cooked breakfast. The car park is up a steep slope, but it's easy to get into and reverse out of. We'd certainly recommend staying here and hope to return next time we're in Devon.
