We had an excellent evening meal, with simple choices and good value. We’d stay again if we were in the area. The room was snug, as you’d expect in an old pub, and up a flight of stairs. The shower cubicle was small for a big guy like me, but the water was hot and powerful. The bed was comfortable and the BT WiFi worked well. There’s no car park, but you can park on the road outside the pub without restrictions. The barmaid gave us a friendly greeting, checked us in quickly, provided all the information and showed us to the room. We asked about food because the website said it was served until 9pm, but were told just after arriving that it stopped at 8pm. The chef still offered to cook for us, since there aren’t many other places to eat in Usk. Breakfast needs to be ordered the night before.

We ate here twice in two days, and both times the service was amazing and the staff were so lovely and welcoming. The Sunday lunch menu is phenomenal, and the regular menu was lovely too. A great place whether you’re local or visiting.

We hadn’t eaten in Usk for a while, so we gave this place a try after reading recent reviews. Glad we did. It’s a fantastic little pub, cosy inside with a stunning garden outside. The food is moderately expensive, though not by Usk standards. After our meal, I thought it was great value. It may have been the best Sunday lunch we’ve ever eaten out. We underestimated the portions and ordered extra of everything, which we nearly regretted, but managed. Everything was perfect. My partner had the vegan option and I had beef. We’d wholeheartedly recommend it and will return next time we’re this way.

The service was great, and the Sunday roast was amazing. The sticky toffee pudding is the greatest in usk. I’ve had an amazing steak here too.

They let us park overnight in the car park while we ate our evening meal there, which was very pleasant. You need to phone ahead to check whether there’s space. The atmosphere was friendly and pleasant.
