Premier Inn Walsall - M6 J10

Michelle was brilliant at helping us add an Interconnecting room to our booking so our disabled adult daughters could stay safe. From booking through checkout, everything went smoothly. Both rooms were clean, tidy and spacious, with a comfortable temperature and a lovely quiet night's sleep. There were lovely chocolates waiting in our room, probably because it was Christmas. Thanks to the whole team, we had a great stay.

After an 8-hour drive, we arrived around 11.30pm, shattered and glad to be greeted by a friendly, helpful staff member. Check-in was easy, and the clean room and comfortable beds were just what we needed. There was only enough tea and coffee in the room for one cup each. Extra sachets were by reception, but we were too tired to go back downstairs. That wouldn't put me off another stay, though late arrivals may want to know. A very good visit.

£200 for two rooms in an industrial estate, and they still charged me £15 to check in early. I got there at 2:35 pm, just 25 minutes before 3. In all my years working away three quarters of the year and staying in Premier Inns and Travelodges across the country, I've never been asked to pay when a room was ready and it was so close to 3. The car park was empty. It felt petty, ignorant and rigidly by the book. Poor form, Prem Inn.

The room was spacious and clean, the bed comfortable, and there was plenty of free parking. The location worked well for where we needed to be. The lighting around the mirrors wasn't good for getting ready to go out. I also wasn't happy about kids running past our room and down the fire escape beside it. When we asked reception, apparently it wasn't an issue. The Beefeater next door was a letdown. We had to send back the beers and food because they tasted wrong, and my partner was sick afterwards. Glad we hadn't booked breakfast there. I'd stay at Premier Inn again, but definitely not at the Beefeater.
