The Fairhaven Hotel

We booked on spec and got a front room on the 3rd floor, with a lift available. The corridors badly need a refurb, which had us concerned on the way through. But then we opened the door to a large bay window and an amazing view of the bay of Weymouth. The room itself had been refurbished to a high standard, with a large TV with all apps, toiletries, fluffy towels and a complimentary tray.

For almost 5 pounds, breakfast is worth it. Some people complain that the options are limited, but I didn’t see it as a big deal. Breakfast’s job is to fill your stomach, and it does that. The location and staff service were perfect during my three day stay. The building is really old, though, and the room sound insulation is poor. One night I was lying in bed and could clearly hear what guests in the next room were saying. Maybe the hotel could improve that.

The rooms are beautiful and the beds so comfortable, and you can’t beat the location. Pay a little extra for a sea view and you’ll be amazed. Steve and his team are truly amazing. Thanks to everyone at fairhaven for such a memorable stay. I’ll definitely be back.

We paid £220 for one night with no breakfast, and had no hot water during our stay. Another room was also without hot water and electricity. We weren’t told about any problems at check in. When we reported the lack of hot water around 5-6pm, we were told it would be fixed by 7.15pm, but the manager left us without hot water for our one night stay. In the morning I reported it twice and was told there was no other room to shower in, even though the manager had told me about their sister hotel, and that nothing could be done. I asked the manager to email me, and Kyle did, to say he was sorry but there would be no compensation. He wasn’t there during check outs and left the receptionist to deal with unhappy guests. She also said she hadn’t known about the issues. I’ve added a picture of our view. I would stay away from this place.
