The Lugger Inn

I stayed at this Pub in Dec 25, with accommodation booked and paid for weeks ahead through a well known and reputable third party. At check-in, the woman asked if I had paid. I showed the receipt, and she acknowledged the payment. At checkout, I saw another couple being asked to pay again, even though they'd paid their bill weeks before and showed their receipt. A staff member said their computer system was down and often had issues, then told them not to worry because the accommodation charge would be removed. She also tried to add unexplained in room food charges. A third couple after me was complaining about the same thing, with extra charges being attempted despite payment already having been made. When I checked out, the woman behind the bar confirmed my bill had been paid, took a screenshot of my receipt, and said she'd pass it to the manager. The manager was expected in half an hour, and I was told I could wait to sort it out. We were in a hurry, but I stayed because I didn't want problems. She was meant to arrive at 10, but was still absent at 10:15, so we had to leave. The employee apologised profusely, said at least I knew it was a system error, took my number, and promised the Manager would call. No call came. A couple of days later, my credit card statement showed I'd been charged for the accommodation again as a manual transaction from the Lugger Inn. I tried calling several times and emailed asking for the money back, but heard nothing. It took weeks for my bank to reimburse me. The Lugger Inns practises are nothing short of criminal. They rip people off and then refuse to communicate, so don't be fooled. I also overheard three staff members behind the bar repeatedly complaining about the Manager ‘Rachel’, saying she doesn't turn up on time, do her job, or get back to customers. I don't know how the business is still running. Avoid! It was absolutely disgraceful, a completely thieving business. If I could give less than 1 star, I would.

The location was peaceful, though there's not much nearby, and taxis seemed scarce on Saturday mornings. Overnight guests don't get breakfast. Our room was nice, if a little cramped in the bathroom, and the evening food was really good.

The room was lovely and peaceful, and the staff were fantastic. They made us feel like regulars, even though we hadn't been going there for years. What an amazing place, and definitely the best stay we've had!

My friend and I really enjoyed the live bands over the weekend, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. This was our third visit to The Lugger Inn, and it didn't disappoint. Liam and his staff were so welcoming and friendly. The room was spacious and clean, and the food was incredible without being expensive. Looking forward to coming back.
