The breakfast was a real highlight, with attentive table service instead of a hectic buffet. No slow toaster holding everything up, either. The staff were lovely, and the old Victorian building has plenty of charm while being kept spotless and in great condition. We stayed one December night to meet friends. Our room, 25, was up 37 steps on the top floor, so bear that in mind if stairs are difficult. It had a partial sea view, a comfortable bed with good bedding, and thoughtful extras like robes and slippers. The bathroom lighting was great for makeup, and there was a magnifying mirror in the room too. Free private parking opposite was very handy.

We had a great weekend away, and would definitely come back. The rooms were very clean, and the staff were kind and helpful. The shower pressure was a bit weak, but you can't have everything. Best of all, breakfast was excellent, with top class service.

The food was lovely, though it did cost a bit, and drinks were on the pricey side too. Still, the staff were really friendly and I'd definitely recommend the hotel.

We'd just got married, so this was our mini honeymoon, and it was exactly what we needed. The food was top marks, the staff made us feel welcome, and we couldn't fault the stay. Ten out of ten, well worth it.
