The location worked perfectly for visiting family, and my daughter liked having the bowling alley and other amenities nearby, including the arcade in the evenings. The only small annoyance was hearing whoever was upstairs stomp to the bathroom every morning. Maybe I had an elephant above me, or maybe the floors are very thin. Apart from that, there weren’t any noise problems. We had a lovely stay at the hotel, despite coming for a family member’s funeral. My daughter and I had a clean room with everything we needed, and every staff member I met was lovely. I’d booked early check in, and the room was ready when we arrived. Breakfast across the road at the brewers fayre was great both mornings, with fresh, hot food, a good continental selection, and lovely, helpful staff. I’m already planning our next visit to see family.

There’s no USB charging in the room, which was inconvenient since I don’t usually bring a plug and most hotels have USB ports now. Otherwise, I had a comfortable stay on my business trip. The room was clean, quiet and comfortable, with the standard Premier Inn quality I expected. Check in was easy, and I really liked that guests could help themselves to tea bags, milk and sugar by reception. As someone who likes a milky tea, being able to grab extra milk was brilliant. The retail park location is very convenient, with McDonald’s, Tesco, B and M, Wickes, Costa and BrewDog close by. Parking was easy too. I’d happily stay again for work.

Claire, Dee and the rest of the Widnes premier inn staff have been so kind and compassionate while helping me and my family through a difficult time. They went above and beyond to make sure we were okay, and even the housekeeping staff checked in on us. We’ll always be grateful for everything they did. They truly are the best and deserve a huge shout out.

The location was perfect, right in the middle of a large shopping and entertainment area. Rooms were clean and comfortable, and the staff were friendly and helpful.

It’s scruffy, uninviting and well past its best. The beds are very firm, the windows don’t open, and there are no phones in the rooms. You can hear people walking around upstairs, so it’s not very peaceful. Very expensive for what you get, and it definitely needs an overhaul.
