This year's stay left me a little disappointed, and I'm not sure we'll come again. Last year we were lucky to get a large room at Tendal Howe with amazing views, and I enjoyed it so much I wanted to return for my birthday. This time our room was small and looked over the courtyard. The decor was lovely, it was spotlessly clean and the bath was amazing, but the view was a letdown. There were only net curtains, and light from what I assume was the laundry room kept me awake all night. I mentioned it to the receptionist when we left, and she was quite rude. The other staff were all lovely and welcoming, especially the two women serving breakfast. We'd seen them last year too, and they were polite and efficient. Breakfast was delicious.

The views from our bedroom, the restaurant and the bar were wonderful. We spent two nights midweek at this lovely hotel recently. The staff were all friendly and efficient, especially Louise, Santa and Claire. Both the evening meals and breakfasts were delicious.

The views were to die for, and the staff were friendly and engaging throughout our one-night stay. We were welcomed royally, and my wife enjoyed the pool. A sunny break meant we could have a glass of wine on the impressive balcony. Our well-appointed room had a super king-size bed that was very comfortable. Dinner was lovely, with my sea bream's wonderfully crispy skin going beautifully with a bottle of Gavi di Gavi. Breakfast hit the spot too, and we left very satisfied. We found the whole stay exceptionally enjoyable and wholeheartedly recommend the hotel.

The Christmas decorations throughout the hotel were tasteful and made the place feel really special. We had a fabulous night on one of the winter packages. The location is ideal for a wander around Windermere and Bowness, and both dinner and breakfast were fantastic. All the staff were friendly and welcoming. We'd definitely recommend staying here.
