The room and the team are what would bring us back. We stayed in Fell Suite 4, which has no hot tub, but the Windermere view is the best. It was roomy, comfortable, and packed with great amenities. The bedroom was spacious too, and connecting our own devices to the TV and tech was easy. Honestly, we couldn't fault it. They were helpful even before check-in when we needed to switch rooms so we could bring our kitten. On arrival, everyone was warm, and Chris, who took our cases, really stood out. Breakfast was good, though dinner less so. I'd choose to eat here rather than at Henrock, since the food is on par and costs much less. The £19 cocktails felt a bit overpriced. A little Christmas music might have made things more festive, though that's probably just me being picky because I love the season. We'd stay again, but probably eat elsewhere. The location, rooms, and service are the best we've experienced in the area.

The new bar menu was the reason for this visit, and it was a hit. The conservatory has a more laid-back feel, the portions are bigger, and the standards match those at their sister restaurant. We loved every dish, especially the Mushroom Pappardelle and Croissant Bread & Butter Pudding 😘. We've been a few times and like to arrive early, so we can enjoy the hotel's elegant, peaceful surroundings. It made for a memorable day, and we're already looking forward to coming back.

The main event on New Year's Eve was fantastic. They really pulled out all the stops, and the tasting menu was great. The first night's meal had been advertised as a three-course dinner, so I was very hungry when it turned out to be a small tasting menu instead. Service was very, very good, with the team going above and beyond. The only person I didn't gel with was the tall gent at reception. I encountered him three times and found him rude each time. Everyone else was top notch. It's a cute hotel with a good evening vibe. The beers were a bit naff, but wine and cocktails seemed to be their strong point. A shout-out to Tim (I think), who emailed me our lake pass after I dropped it on a walk. That meant we could still take a cruise around the lake for over an hour. I'd recommend it.

We spent 2.5 days here, which gave us time to explore town and take a few nearby hikes. The estate is beautiful, and the town centre is a pleasant 25-minute walk away. I’d recommend it for a couple or family. The hospitality was incredible, and dinner at the on-site one-star Michelin restaurant was just as impressive. The food was incredible too.

The hotel itself is stunning, and the service was tip top. We ate in the bar, though, and you can't eat a hotel. The chips with our meals were disgusting. Definitely skip the battered fish and chips. The cod dish and the mushroom dish were amazing instead.
