We stopped in for lunch and didn't have to wait long. The food was fresh, hot and really tasty, and the staff were lovely and helpful. The place is beautifully decorated in an old country pub style. I'd definitely recommend eating here.

The fish and chips were delicious, and there was plenty to choose from. We came for a family lunch and loved the atmosphere. The staff were friendly and helpful, made us feel at home straight away, and never rushed us. Happy to recommend!

We ate here on a Tuesday evening while staying in Newby Bridge. It was bustling, and there was a good choice of ales and cider. I had a tasty sweet potato and lentil dhal, and my husband enjoyed his burger. I'd recommend it.

I came on my own to focus on university work and am staying in one of the pods. It's spotless, with a very comfortable bed, and wonderfully quiet and peaceful. I didn't know how busy the Brown horse Inn gets, so I turned up without booking. The bartender served me quickly and offered me a reserved table that wasn't needed for an hour. He brought my drink over, took my food order, and my tasty burger arrived in no more than 10 minutes, if that. The warm atmosphere, food, drink and service were all spot on. 10/10, can't fault it. Thank you 😊

The Sunday dinner and haddock were gorgeous, and the homemade traditional English food was excellent. We booked online at the last minute, though it wasn't tourist season. Prices seemed reasonable for the Lake District, and better than at many chain pub restaurants. Highly recommended.
