The Westmorland Inn

We met family for Sunday lunch in a nice, welcoming atmosphere. The menu had lots of popular choices. Two of us ordered the Sunday lunch with honey glazed ham and an enormous Yorkshire pudding, and all the meals were lovely.

The beer was well kept, and the barman knew his trade. He kept the pub busy even in the chilly off peak season and made it feel warm and welcoming. He even remembered a cocktail one of our group had ordered months earlier, although it was no longer on the menu. He made us feel appreciated, and every visit was a real pleasure. We’ll be back!

Yasmin and Brandon were so kind and helpful with our table of 21, and couldn’t do enough for us. The meals were excellent and the service faultless. Thanks for making our day special. We’ll definitely come back next time we visit!

We visited The Westmorland Inn from 2nd to 4th October, and though I meant to write this earlier, life’s been busy. My partner and I had a wonderful stay. The two brothers who run the place clearly put their hearts into it, and their warmth made us feel at home, more like staying with friends than in a hotel. The cosy lounge has a roaring open fire, just right for warming up after a day exploring the Lake District. There’s also a welcoming bar, and the inn has a lot of character. Whether you’ve been walking on the fells or just want to relax, it’s a lovely place to unwind. It captures Windermere’s friendly feel and timeless charm, with such a peaceful atmosphere that you don’t want to leave. We’ll 100% be back, this time to try the food. It looked amazing, but we couldn’t get in because it was fully booked. See you again soon. Dave & Sally
