Elm Tree Farm Bed & Breakfast

Breakfast was really tasty, and my double room was cosy, with nice little extras like coffee facilities. I slept peacefully and found the room very comfortable. The service was friendly and the location worked brilliantly as a base for exploring the area.

We used Elm tree farm camping for a couple of nights to test a new tent before a longer family trip. The small, tidy field was very quiet while we were there, and Gina was especially friendly and helpful. There’s a free-to-use fridge and little freezer, paid washer and dryer, plus plenty of books and magazines. We ordered Gina’s breakfast sandwiches and loved them. The facilities are fine for a small site. It’s in a peaceful village near Spurn head nature reserve and Withernsea. Withernsea didn’t do much for us, though a bit farther along, Hornsea is a lovely seaside town. The things we’d have liked improved were some solar lights along the drive and path to the toilets and showers, and more thorough cleaning in those rooms. They weren’t awful, but there were old cobwebs and daddy longlegs, and mud from earlier campers remained on the outdoor shower floors. We were the only campers left by then, and it wasn’t our mud. These were small annoyances and didn’t spoil the stay, so I’d still recommend the site.

Gina is a warm, thoughtful owner who clearly cares about her B&B, and she’s made Elm Tree Farm feel special. One lovely surprise was the private guest garden, a secluded, peaceful spot with so much charm it felt like stepping into Narnia. We left feeling looked after, rested, and keen to return. The place is tucked away from the main road among rolling countryside, so it’s wonderfully calm. Our room was spotless and nicely decorated, and the bed was incredibly comfortable. I had the best sleep I can remember in ages. Breakfast was a hearty full English, cooked beautifully, with juice, cereals, and excellent coffee too. My wife’s tea was just right, hot and strong.

Even though we booked late in the day, getting a room was no problem. The lady of the house made us feel very welcome. Our twin beds were really comfortable, and the room was clean and cosy. Breakfast started with cereal or yoghurt and fruit, then there was a full English and plenty of toast. They also happily filled our flask for the day. We visit the area each year and would definitely stay again. Highly recommended.
