Novotel Wolverhampton

Secure gated parking and a really quiet room made this an awesome stay. The bed was super comfy, with lots of space to work and plenty of power points. I loved having a separate toilet from the bathroom, and the breakfast choices were excellent. Staff were super friendly and helpful. I was extremely pleasantly surprised and would definitely recommend it and stay again if I'm in the area.

The only downside was being woken at 3:30am by what sounded like an automated robot vacuum cleaner going up and down the corridors. Otherwise, the hotel was convenient and reasonably priced for my visit to Wolverhampton to get my classic car retrimmed by Aldridge Trimming. It had a secure car park, friendly and helpful staff, and a good-sized, comfortable bedroom that was spotlessly clean. I'd recommend breakfast: it was excellent, with a proper self-serve Full English, even including fried bread.

I've stayed here more than 20 times over the past couple of years, though not for about five months before this visit. I've had many good experiences, but this time the room was terrible. There were stains all over the carpet and it was really run down. The room stank of damp and smoke. The aircon would work for a few minutes, get really noisy, then make a huge bang and stop. Maybe I just got very unlucky and it was a perfect storm of bad things this week. I hope it was a one-off with a bad room, and not a sign the hotel is going downhill.

The car park was good, and the hotel was clean with welcoming staff. It's close to the railway station and just a few minutes' walk from the centre. The reception area and bar were nice, and the rooms were large with a sofa bed.
