The English breakfast my husband ordered was one of the best he’s had in a long time, he said, cooked just right and very satisfying. I had the focaccia with roasted red peppers, burrata and crushed pistachio, which was outstanding, fresh, nicely toasted and full of flavour. Everything seemed carefully prepared. Blenheim Buttery is a charming little café a short walk from the church, and it felt welcoming as soon as we came in. We stopped there for breakfast and immediately wanted to return. A fantastic meal in a lovely setting, highly recommended if you’re visiting Woodstock.

We only stopped in for lunch, not an overnight stay. It’s a really lovely place, with attentive staff and great food at a reasonable price. I’d recommend it :)

We didn’t stay at the hotel, so I can only speak to lunch. The service was spot on, and everyone was nice. The food was tip top, especially those really, really good chips. The focaccia was superb, light and thin, almost like Turkish flatbread. We had fish fingers, chips and peas for the little fella, a tuna melt and chips for the lady, and salami and mozzarella on focaccia with chips for me. We’ll definitely return.

It’s a shame, because our first visit to The Buttery was really positive, but this will be my second and last. Our food order seemed to get lost while tables seated after us were already being served. When our meal finally arrived very late, it was wrong and nobody apologised. There was another chance to say sorry when we paid, but that didn’t happen either. They also didn’t offer us the bill to check it was right, despite the mix-up.

We didn’t stay, so I can’t comment on the rooms. The food and service were superb and very good value. The staff were extremely friendly, and the coffee was really good.
