I'm writing for my elderly neighbours because tech is a struggle for them. They had a lovely time and asked me to pass on their thanks. Ava looked after them so well, knew the menu inside out, and made some great suggestions. She was always smiling and ready to help. They hope to pop in again soon.

The vegetables were a generous part of our Sunday birthday lunch, and everything was cooked beautifully. My friend chose the beef and I had pork. Both meals came with a large Yorkshire pudding and a side of cauliflower cheese. Excellent.

We held a funeral wake at The Bull’s Head, and Rob and his team were professional and quick to respond. The staff made us feel very welcome. The afternoon tea was delicious, with fresh sandwiches, scones with jam and cream, eclairs, huge cupcakes and platters of fruit. We couldn't recommend them more highly.

We had a wonderful two-night break here with my husband and would happily stay again. Rob and his team made us feel welcome the whole time, and the food was amazing. It's a traditional pub in a great location, with friendly locals and great staff.

The staff member was lovely, but the lunch was a letdown. We both ordered pie with seasonal vegetables and a bottle of New Zealand wine. The pie wasn't cooked through, the packet mash was poor, and the microwaved chips were soggy. We got only a dish of mushy peas, with no other vegetables. At bill time, we were charged for an expensive Allan Scott wine because our mid-range bottle wasn't listed on the till. We queried it, but still had to pay a ridiculous amount for wine we hadn't ordered. Sorry, guys, we won't be back.
