Oliver made our wedding evening even more memorable. He was warm, attentive and professional, and clearly cared about making it special. He even spotted us in the breakfast queue the next morning and offered us a table in the quieter area where he was serving. We couldn’t have asked for a better server, and we hope to see him and Melissa when we return to the Lygon Arms for our first anniversary. Melissa was fantastic throughout the planning. When a last-minute booking meant we couldn’t get into the champagne bar the night before to decorate, she took care of all the decorations herself on the wedding morning and brought our vision to life perfectly. My husband and I got married at the Lygon Arms last weekend, and the whole experience was phenomenal. Thank you both for helping make our day so perfect.

We didn’t stay this time, so I can’t comment on the rooms. It’s a gorgeous 14th century coaching house, a big building full of nooks and crannies, with a lovely, welcoming atmosphere. We had coffee at lunchtime and dinner in the evening. The food was lovely, though it could have been hotter. We ate in the champagne bar, which was quieter, and were glad of that. Service was great. We’d definitely come back and highly recommend the place.

Oliver brought so much personality and warmth to the evening while staying professional and attentive. Our guests were wowed by him and kept talking about how he made the atmosphere and their experience even more memorable. Melissa also made a huge difference, with her support, organisation and attention to detail from beginning to end. We felt looked after throughout, and nothing seemed too much trouble. Her work behind the scenes helped make the day special. We had our wedding at the Lygon Arms and couldn’t have asked for a more perfect experience. Thank you to Oliver, Melissa and the whole team for helping us make such wonderful memories. We’ll treasure them forever.

The history and location are fabulous, but at £300+ per night, the details should be better. Breakfast service was almost comical: it took four tries to order coffee, and the food arrived cold. We were seated beside an open roaring fire for both breakfast and dinner, fine if you enjoy eating in 30 degree heat. The glasses at the bar smelled as if the dishwasher hadn’t been cleaned. Food was mediocre, and the service felt as tired as the decor. Five star prices for a three star experience. There are better places to stay in the Cotswolds.

The building is attractive and the setting charming, but the prices felt opportunistic rather than tied to the quality. For a birthday drink at The Lygon Arms in Broadway, I was genuinely shocked to pay £63 for two drinks and a bottle of water. A large glass of red wine was £25, which felt excessive, not premium. Nothing in the service, presentation or experience justified those amounts. It took away from what should have been a pleasant celebration and left us feeling taken advantage of. A venue can be luxurious without being unreasonable, and this crossed that line.
