The spa was gorgeous and modern, with three sauna rooms, two steam rooms, and a lovely pool and hot tub. I had a weekend spa package and everything was really incredible. Both the hotel and spa staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, and the rooms were gorgeous, clean and luxurious. It’s only a four-minute walk from the station, and the route is flat and accessible. I’d recommend it to anyone after a relaxing getaway, and I’d come again and recommend it to family and friends. Thanks so much to the lovely staff. Molly

Everything was made very clear days before check-in, from valet parking to access to the spa. We booked the grand heritage suite for a few days, and it was brilliant. The room service was on point, and the breakfasts made it a little easier to get out of that ridiculously comfortable bed. The whole staff team were helpful and polite, and made us feel so welcome. Great hotel, great staff. I really can’t wait to visit again.

We’ve just got home after two fabulous nights at the Grand Hotel, and had a great time from the moment we arrived. The rooms were comfortable, spotless and peaceful. Breakfast was faultless, with loads of choices including vegan options. Service was extremely efficient and cheerful, and nothing was too much trouble. The service overall was impeccable. Everyone was friendly, and the reception staff were knowledgeable and happy to help with absolutely anything, from places to visit, eat, drink or shop. We didn’t dine at the hotel, but we did have drinks in the evening and they were delicious. It was a particularly busy time, with a great atmosphere, and we thoroughly enjoyed the evening. A wonderful, relaxing stay, and we’ll definitely return. Thank you, everyone.

The location made this trip so easy. We could walk to everything morning, afternoon and evening, and the historic building is beautiful without feeling creaky. Our room was spacious, nicely decorated and quiet, just as we’d asked. Breakfast was lovely each morning, so I’d add it to your stay. The bellmen were warm and polite and looked after us well, day and night. One thing to know: book the pool and spa ahead. Both were full when we tried, and nobody warned us when we booked the room, which was disappointing. The hotel bees on the fourth floor, which make honey for the food and drinks, are a fun thing for kids to see when you arrive. I’d also like to find out more about the cooking school on site. We had a wonderful stay at The Grand York and would happily return. If you’re after luxury, I’d recommend it.

Wayne was great, and the staff were friendly. The rooms and facilities were good too. What let it down for me was the spa. I expected somewhere calm and relaxing, but there were kids screaming and shouting, with floats in the shallow pool. It felt more like a children’s swimming pool, which really spoiled that part of the stay, especially for the price.
