The smells in the corridors were something else. The room they eventually gave us had dirt and hairs across the bathroom and floor, sticking to our feet. After I sent the photos they asked for, nothing happened. There was no apology or response. Disgusting and unacceptable. I’ve stayed at Ramada before without any issues, but I’d avoid this place at all costs. The Police might want to walk the corridors one evening. We were there on a Lomond Travel Tour for Polar Express. After the long trip, dinner was supposedly 20 minutes away, and it was possibly the worst hotel food I’ve had. Staff said the adults had taken the kids’ food, which tells you how bad it was, but they were still serving adults and there was nothing for the kids, so we had to buy food for them. When I tried to get into bed, it was obvious someone had slept in it already. The sheets were crumpled, there were stains, and the mattress had vomit stains. I’m disabled, and the filthy phone didn’t work, so I had to make my way down to reception, which was all closed up. I couldn’t even get a coffee while I waited. They offered a room with a broken toilet or one they hadn’t checked. I took the unchecked room after they inspected it and said it was okay, but it smelled of air freshener that didn’t cover up someone smoking substances. You could smell the smoke too. That room had another filthy, broken phone. I had to go back down and was told to wait while they cleared the air and changed the bedding. My 9yr old grandson and I didn’t get to bed until well after 1am. We waited in my daughter’s room, keeping everyone else up, including the 3yrs and 7yrs, until they could call me on my mobile to say the room was ready because the filthy phones didn’t work.

I was away on business and stopped for one night. The staff were friendly, the food was really good, and breakfast was excellent. The bed felt a little soft, and the room was dated, but it was a good stay overall.

The heating kept switching itself off every few hours, so the room got cold unless I turned it back on manually. At breakfast there were no gluten-free options that day. I was just told they were out, without any apparent understanding that this left people who can’t eat gluten without breakfast. They also wouldn’t let me warm soy or oat milk for tea or coffee. They said it was against the rules, though the cook allowed it one day and refused the next during my two-day stay. I haven’t had this issue at other hotels. Reception staff were laughing loudly while people were trying to eat breakfast quietly, which felt unprofessional. The breakfast cook was wearing acrylic nails, which I found disgusting.

It was fine. The rooms were clean and fairly comfortable, and the staff were friendly and helpful. I had a heating issue because it locked for some reason and I didn’t have the code to unlock it, though it wasn’t too bad since it wasn’t very cold. Some of the fixtures and fittings are starting to look worn.
