Abby Inn

We arrived in snowy, slushy weather, and the pavement by the entrance had been cleared and salted. There was also a luggage cart, which came in handy. The room was clean, the price was fair, and the woman at the desk was friendly and showed us where to go.

The woman working there was great and very helpful, but I still want to raise some concerns for future guests. My room smelled strongly of cigarettes, the shower leaked and looked like it was being held together with tape, and wallpaper was peeling on several walls. A couple of spots looked like they might have mold, and the metal fixtures were rusty. The place also seemed unsanitary enough that I questioned walking around in socks or sleeping in the bed. I paid $72, and the room didn't feel worth it. My card had already been charged, so I didn't feel I had much choice but to stay. Next time, I'll ask to see the room before paying. I know improvements take time and money, and you may be working on the property. Still, you own two of the only hotels in town, and neither seems to be in good shape right now. That's disappointing. I hope these issues get addressed.

The Abby Inn is back to a 5 star establishment. The new owners have made a real difference, with wonderful accommodations and an attentive manager. Congratulations on the turnaround.

I needed somewhere to stop during a snowstorm before making the 1.5 hour drive home. I arrived around 11 pm and left at 6, and the woman there was sweet the whole time. It seems they must have new owners, and the place is being revamped. She was very kind.
