Abilene Whitten Inn

The breakfast had amazing food and plenty of variety, and there's a cocktail bar in the hotel too. The staff were super friendly, the rooms were clean, and the location made it easy to walk to restaurants. The WiFi was bad, with dead spots in the rooms and random dropouts. If you're Air Force and on Orders, they offer Non-A rates.

The front desk woman was so kind, even though we checked in pretty late. She told us not to miss breakfast the next morning because it was delicious, and she was right. The man working there was attentive and sweet, kept everything clean and stocked, and asked people if they'd had enough to eat. I was a little unsure about booking somewhere without a big name, but it turned out to be the best decision. The rooms were basic but clean, with a fridge and microwave, and cost less than other places in the area. We'll definitely stay here whenever we're nearby.

I broke down last night and needed somewhere to stay, and the shop suggested this hotel. Glad they did. I relaxed with a few drinks on the courtyard patio and got a good rest. The property isn't new, but you can see the care, attention, and money they've put into making guests comfortable. Breakfast had a big selection, including bacon and eggs, and the coffee was great. I'd have liked flavored creamer, though I guess I missed it. In my defense, I was half asleep and overwhelmed by all the food choices. Hope I get to stay again!

The best part for me was the owner and staff. Mr. Witten is a wonderful guy who cares about the community, his guests, and his employees. The staff remember your name and care about you. I won't stay anywhere else when I'm in town. I was stuck at the hotel in an ice storm and hadn't stocked up on food. There was a grocery store next door and a few restaurants, so I thought I'd be fine, but they all closed. The owner's wife had made soup for the staff to keep them warm, and they offered me as much as I wanted. Unbelievably sweet people. The rooms are clean and nice, though it's not the Ritz. Breakfast is the best in my opinion: real food, real eggs and bacon, biscuits, and fantastic gravy. The coffee was decent, though not the best I've had.
