Americas Best Value Inn-Abilene

I can't find my review from a few years ago, but the room smelled like dog piss, the sheets were stained, and everything was dirty.

There was no running water, wires were exposed, and everything was dirty. Everything about this place is horrid. Anyone who says otherwise must be affiliated. Spend the extra money and go somewhere else.

The furniture was falling apart, and the room smelled musty and like cigarettes. There wasn't even a bar of soap, and the sheets and bathroom towels were filthy. When we alerted management, they didn't apologize or offer to fix anything. We said we couldn't stay somewhere that dirty and were told to call in the morning. We left for a better hotel, expecting a refund in the morning. But when we came back, they said we'd been in the room for more than 10 minutes and wouldn't refund us. The woman at the front desk was rude and gave little explanation. Steer clear of this nasty place.

I had a hard time finding a last-minute room, then stumbled across this motel and was greeted by the owner in a way that helped me relax. He called within five minutes of me settling in to say he'd take care of anything I needed. I asked for extra towels, and he brought them to my room himself right away. It was a great experience, and I'll stay here again.
