I was here alone on a business trip to Abilene and would stay again. The breakfast had fresh food that was better than what I've had at other Hampton Inn locations, and when I arrived in the early evening, three front desk staff greeted me promptly and politely. Everyone I dealt with was kind and helpful. The gym needs attention. I liked seeing free weights up to 50 pounds instead of the 25-pound limit at many hotel gyms, but apart from the Peloton bike, both the elliptical and treadmill were broken and in disrepair. Breakfast had no scrambled eggs, and both egg choices included cheese, which was a big disappointment. If you run in the morning, the area nearby is either freeway or pitch black, so bring suitable gear or lights.

The event I planned to attend was canceled because bad weather was forecast three days later, so I couldn't use my reservation. I had bought travel protection through hotels.com, but not through the hotel. Hotels.com contacted the front desk and spoke with Miguel, who graciously issued a full refund. I really appreciate that customer service. I'll stay there whenever I'm passing through Abilene. Thank you again!

We picked a first-floor room because we were traveling with our pets. At first it looked clean, but within a few minutes we noticed lots of tiny flying bugs on the carpet, window, and TV. We couldn't sleep in that room. I went to the desk to ask for another room or a refund. The first staff member wasn't very helpful and was a little rude. I waited about ten minutes for another employee to arrive and show the other two team members how to process the refund in the system. I hope this was an isolated incident or just bad luck that day, but it definitely wasn't a pleasant stay.

The rooms were spacious and very clean, and the hotel itself was great. Thank goodness for keyless check-in and checkout, because the staff weren't friendly at all. Breakfast could use more variety.
