The toilet in the room we moved to had the same problem as the first, and the room looked identical. I’m guessing all the king rooms are called executive suites. I blame the hotel’s management and owners. How can a place have hundreds of toilets and not a single plunger? Paying $522 for two nights in a Holiday Inn is already crazy, but not having a usable bathroom is worse. At check-in, they only had a double room for one night, even though I’d booked two nights. They offered to upgrade me to a “king executive suite,” and the first night was fine. The next day, the toilet wouldn’t flush. The bowl filled with water and took about an hour to drain, even though there was no paper or poo in it. There wasn’t a plunger on the property. At first the front desk employee said he was the only one there and I was basically on my own. Then he offered to move me and upgrade me to a “king executive suite.” I agreed, but thought that was what they’d already given me the night before. He said that room had only been a king suite.

Right off I-20 and near Denny’s, this hotel was clean and nice. I had a cooked-to-order breakfast, and the woman who served me was sweet and attentive. The food was delicious, and the front desk staff were welcoming.

The room was nasty, and I had to clean it myself. There were roaches, too. I regret deleting the picture I sent my husband. This place badly needs updating, and housekeeping needs to be taught how to clean. People live in these hotels for work. Do better. The woman with the ponytail at the front desk was rude and liked to argue with customers. When I asked her for a vacuum, she acted like I was asking for a million bucks. She needs better customer service. The other women were very nice, though. I saw people sitting all day at another hotel, then coming over to this one. Take the rugs out of the rooms, they hold germs. Don’t waste your time staying here. Those positive reviews aren’t true.

The front desk was okay, but this is not one of the better Holiday Inn properties. WiFi was horrendous, dropping in and out every five to ten minutes, so I wouldn’t stay here if I had business to do. I also saw two cockroaches running through my room. Noise carries through the walls pretty well. The guy next door was snoring loudly and gasping, and I think someone should check on him.

I enjoyed staying here. My room was clean and comfortable, with plenty of shampoo, soap, and body wash. I’d stay here again if I’m in the area.
