Holiday Inn Express & Suites by IHG

The breakfast was the one bright spot in a pretty poor stay. The biscuits were genuinely great, and one of the women at the front desk was friendly, kind, and professional. She couldn’t get anything fixed. I don’t know her name, since nobody had any identifiers. I stayed eight days and never got room service. I asked several times and heard a different excuse each day. By day six I gave up, asked for a housekeeping cart, and cleaned the room myself. Yes, really. I attached a photo of myself vacuuming as proof. For $140 a night, it felt like a $35 motel. A lot of things were broken: the safe didn’t work, the shower diverter barely worked, several outlets were dead, and the side doors didn’t latch or secure properly. The maintenance guy was easy to find at any time, usually sitting on the couch by the front desk. At the desk it was hard to tell who worked there. No badges or uniforms, and employees’ friends hanging out behind the desk made the place feel more like a living room than a business. If management ever matches the price to the experience, or the experience to the price, maybe I’d reconsider. For now, I’d stay somewhere else.

After 25 years of business travel, this is the worst hotel I’ve stayed in. The staff weren’t welcoming, and the young woman at check-in and check-out was the worst in the business. My Diamond 500 welcome points weren’t added, and the front desk said they don’t do that. IHG said otherwise and added them for me. The rooms are outdated and weren’t cleaned properly, and breakfast was a joke. I don’t recommend this property and won’t return. Looking at the other reviews, I agree with what people are saying. Before booking, read the one-star reviews from the past six months and ask yourself if you’d stay here.

Room 228 smelled of mildew, and there was mold on the air conditioner. The curtain had been replaced with a poor drape that let light through. One bed was soft, but its sheets looked slept in even though the bed had been made, so I don’t think they were changed. The shower pressure was low, and the water was very hot with little adjustment. Breakfast was ho-hum, even for a continental breakfast. The front desk is curious. My coworker’s room had cockroaches, too. At $220 a night, you’re getting ripped off.

The water was scalding hot and burned my daughter, and there were a lot of broken things in the room. Breakfast had no working juice machine. The only water available was in the fitness room, and they refill the jug with tap water. It tastes disgusting. This is a horrible hotel. Don’t go here.
