We stayed in room 300, The Governor’s Suite, and didn’t want to leave. It felt like going back in time while still having modern comforts: two gas fireplaces, several couches and sitting areas, a modern bidet, two large flat-screen TVs, a large mini fridge, and a wet bar. Such a cool experience, one everyone should get to enjoy. The staff were friendly and helpful too.

I rarely write negative reviews because I’d rather share good experiences, but this was the worst experience I’ve had with a place I hadn’t even visited. I booked one night for New Year’s, then had to cancel because of a family health issue. The staff wouldn’t let me cancel within the no-cancel window, which I understand, and offered a chance to rebook before April. I emailed March 7 as a possible date and got no response. On March 6, an email arrived with check-in directions, so I replied that I was caught off guard because no one had confirmed a new booking. I’d sent that email at 10:30 a.m.; the hotel finally called at 8:30 p.m. I included a screenshot of the original email with no reply. They assured me they had called twice, but they hadn’t. I was told they’d rebooked me on the 26th, even though I didn’t send the date until the 28th. There had been no calls in that period, and they said the email probably went to spam, although their other emails reached my main inbox. In the end they canceled the one-night stay, which cost $325, and offered that amount as credit for the next year. Their communication is seriously lacking, and their slow email response cost me. They acted like it was my fault for not checking spam or calling to confirm, and I was flat-out lied to about the calls. The stay was booked through a third-party website, so I contacted them. I’d recommend checking other places nearby, such as VRBOs.

We’ve stayed many times and were there for two nights last week. The location is great, and both breakfast in the dining room and dinner were great. Tiffany, our host and server, was fabulous, as was Stephanie, our bartender.

The Brussels sprouts were good, but the risotto wasn’t fully cooked and my salmon portion was much smaller than everyone else’s despite costing the same. The pork tenderloin was dry and poorly seasoned. It was also cold where we were sitting, which made the meal hard to enjoy. For an upscale restaurant, they need to pay closer attention to detail.
