It’s cheap, dirty, and sketchy, but at Sunrise Motel you can sit outside, smoke some weed, and watch the sun rise over Absecon Bay. I did a nice wake and bake while watching it come up. There are bugs and some highly questionable people around, myself included, but being able to smoke bud is worth every penny.

The Crest is quiet, has no partying, and the woman who works there tries hard to make guests feel welcome. She gets things fixed and updated, works with you, and is very nice. I recommend it to anyone wanting a pleasant stay in the area. The other place had terrible service, outdated everything, no weekly rates, and was just a dump. The owners seemed to sit in their back-room “Apartments” doing nothing, then came to the desk with an attitude. Clean up and do something.

The people running the motel were friendly, but the conditions were simply unlivable. We arrived around 9:00 at night and had to leave at 2:00 in the morning because we couldn’t stand staying there any longer. We chose it at the last minute on Labor Day weekend because we were too tired to drive home, and everywhere else was booked or extremely expensive. This has to be the worst motel I’ve ever stayed in. I would rather have slept outside.

The weekend rate was cheap, $75 for Memorial Day weekend. The room had only the basics, and the heat wasn’t working, but the attendant brought us a portable heater that worked so well we were too hot overnight. We also asked for extra towels and soap, and they got those for us without any trouble.

Worst place ever. The owner tried to hit my wife with a broom, and they don’t even turn on the heat. Don’t stay here.
