The charm here is apparently paying a little more than a cheap motel to sleep in the attic of someone’s rickety old house. If you’re coming from far away, what better first taste of New England than this run-down tourist trap? The mother and daughter running it seem to find new ways to tack on extra charges, all presented as quaint local culture.
