Best Western Acworth Inn

Update: Management replied to my complaint and offered a discount for another visit. I accepted, and the return stay was much more enjoyable. I had the same room, but it was cleaner and the refrigerator was quiet. Thanks for making the visit pleasant and bringing things closer to Best Western standards. On my first stay, the room smelled musty, the refrigerator was noisy, and there was a used washcloth in the shower, which made it seem uncleaned. People yelling and slamming doors after 10PM made it very hard to sleep. I was very dissatisfied with those conditions.

The front desk staff were very friendly, which was about the only upside. I wouldn't stay here again. The room was clean enough and smelled fine, but this felt like a cheap motel lodge with the BW name slapped on it, not what I'm used to at a Best Western. The area seemed a bit shady, and the door was hard to close, so I felt uneasy and kept all the locks engaged. The remote didn't work, and I never got a response to my late checkout request. We stayed three nights, but the room wasn't cleaned at all, despite a desk sign saying they clean every other day. The “continental breakfast” was a joke: the yogurt machine was out of service, the waffle maker handle was broken, and there was no hot water for tea. The eggs, sausage patties, biscuits and gravy were cold, and the cereal was stale and cold too. Coffee tasted a month old. Toast options were only plain white bread, with no bagels, plus sad little store-bought packaged muffins.

The toilet paper was very thin, and the hot water took a while to warm up, but those were small issues. The rooms were clean and looked recently remodeled, and the staff were VERY friendly and helpful. Breakfast was hot, fresh, and stocked each time we went. My daughter and I came down at 6:30 for waffles and coffee, my husband went at 7:30 for biscuits and sausage, and I returned at 8:30 for fruit and more coffee. There were people eating every time, and the area stayed clean and well kept. McDonald's and Wendy's are an easy walk away, though I didn't look much farther. I'd stay here again if I'm in the area. It's a good-looking, clean hotel without any bad smell. The bathroom and sink looked good, though there were small signs of wear. The toilet and plasma TV are small, and there's a fridge, microwave, and three pillows per bed. I saw the guy working wear gloves while changing the trash, so I assume the rooms get a quality cleaning.
