Comfort Inn Acworth - Kennesaw Northwest

Update 2: I woke up to multiple attempts to charge our card, with two different charges attempted. I called the hotel to ask what they were doing, and they said they hadn't charged us. I told them I had proof. The woman said they were trying to give us a refund, but I said that wasn't a refund, they were charging my card. She then said she'd spoken with Comfort and they could only give us a 50 percent refund or a discount on another stay. I said no. They'd told us one thing the night before, then changed their story and kept attempting charges. I called Comfort Inn corporate; a helpful representative saw the charges, contacted the hotel, investigated, and we got a full refund. Update: At 11:46pm the ladies called to say they'd somehow reached the owner and could give me 70 percent of my refund right then. They'd said they couldn't do anything, but now, after we'd left, a refund was suddenly possible. The owner and manager wouldn't be there until 11pm the next night, Mon 6/15/26, if I wanted to talk to them. The whole thing was very displeasing and not accommodating. I'm giving one star because we were about to lie down, turned the lights off, and saw a roach crawling on the dresser by the microwave and refrigerator. We killed it, put it in a container, and took it to the front desk. The woman, KIM, who gave a fake name when asked, looked to her coworker as if she expected them to give a name for her. She said they didn't have roaches and couldn't give us a refund. We'd checked in after 9pm and were leaving at 11:38, less than three hours later. They kept denying roaches were in the building even though we brought the bug down for them to see. When we asked for a manager, they called a man named Andy, who offered to move us. I said no, if there was one there were probably more, and they wouldn't admit it no matter how they thought they cleaned or what they saw. They told us to come back the next day for a refund because they said they had no authority to issue one.
