Econo Lodge Acworth East

The room seemed clean at first, but the bedding was filthy. There were stains, dirt, and hair on the sheets, along with a smell like old lady perfume. Some of it looked like pet hair, and the blanket was worn out, gross, and full of burn holes. I couldn't sleep because I was afraid to get into the bed. They need better housekeeping. Otherwise, it could've been a good place to spend the night.

The desk attendant was nice, and the motel is conveniently located off the interstate. That was about all I liked. This was the worst motel room I've ever stayed in: roaches, old furniture, a blurry, pixelated TV, and people hanging around outside. The toilet was in bad shape on broken tile, the desk chair was broken, the door was scratched up, the latch was missing, and the bed linens had cigarette burns. I doubt anyone in Econo Lodge leadership would want this room representing the brand. Never again.

After driving more than six hours from KY, I was hoping to unwind in a comfortable room. The beds were worn out and broken down, though, so I don't expect much rest. The place smelled bad, had roaches, and was generally dirty. There weren't even sodas or snacks in the machine. This wasn't what I expected, and it feels like false advertising. First visit, and my last.

I stayed at the Econo Lodge in Acworth, Georgia, from September 18th to September 21st, 2025, and it was the most upsetting and humiliating hotel experience I've had. I believe the front desk employee's name was Ayura. On my checkout morning, September 21st, I called around 9:00 AM to ask about a late checkout. She said 11:30 AM was the latest, so I accepted that and started packing. Around 11:30, she knocked hard on my door and told me to leave immediately. I said I was already packing and moving my suitcase and things out, which she could see. She came back several times, spoke disrespectfully, and threatened to call the police. I was shocked because I was finishing up and loading my car. By the time the police arrived, I had cleared the room and was ready to go. Still, Ayura told them I had refused to leave and had been rude to her. That was completely untrue. I was given a criminal trespass notice despite doing nothing wrong. As a non-U.S. citizen, I'm seriously worried about the lasting impact this could have on my life and my stay in this country. A simple checkout turned into a police matter for no valid reason, and the employee's conduct was unprofessional and lacking in respect or empathy. I'm very disappointed and believe the situation needs to be investigated and brought to the owner's or general manager's attention. I've stayed in many hotels, but this was by far the worst. Please take this seriously if you care about yourself, and don't stay here just because the price is cheap or you feel desperate.
