La Quinta Inn Acworth

The staff were very friendly, and I felt safe here. The beds were comfortable and clean, though the room wasn’t perfect and I wouldn’t choose to stay multiple nights. Breakfast had good coffee and hot biscuits and gravy. If you’re traveling on I-75, it’s a decent exit, with a good gas station nearby. I picked this place because it allowed dogs and had positive online reviews.

The rooms, hallways, stairs, and elevator were all very clean, and the bathroom was roomy and exceptionally clean, including around the shower. My king room was spacious, with a fridge and microwave built into the entertainment center, three storage drawers, a large desk, a two-seat sofa, and a separate closet. The hotel is right off I-75 and very pet friendly. Even the vendors seemed to love the pets. Staff were compassionate, helpful, and made me feel at home. Breakfast included waffles, bacon, eggs, biscuits and southern gravy, cereal, English muffins, bagels, coffee, tea, juices, and more. There’s also a small fitness and business center with a fax and computer. I’d recommend it for a short or long stay.

The staff were exceptionally nice, and the room stayed quiet despite being so close to the freeway. The AC and heat unit worked well and was very quiet, and everything in the clean room worked. The hot breakfast options were quite good and varied, but the pastries were old and pretty pathetic. I’d call this a moderate hotel.

My biggest issue was being charged twice on two different cards. I raised it with the staff several times, but they said I’d have to deal with corporate. After three weeks of calls, emails, and sending documentation, I got a “sorry... Not sorry... Call your bank” response. I ultimately had to dispute the charges with my bank to get my money back. The hotel itself was run down and dirty. The bathroom was disgusting, with dark liquid splattered on the wall and general grime. Wallpaper was peeling, walls were damaged around the hotel, and maintenance didn’t seem regular. The pool was closed for inspection, with no accommodation offered. I’ve never had a more disappointing hotel stay, and I’ll never stay at a La Quinta again. The company’s integrity and professionalism were deplorable.
