For two nights there was no heat in my room. They changed the heater on the third night, but didn’t adjust the price. I was charged $158 twice, and after three months I’m still getting the runaround from the manager. I went in that day to ask about the overpayment. Manager Charlie Patel said they were trying to figure it out, then offered me a room for $55. You know I’ve overpaid, and you want more money while you sort it out? It’s going on four months. Wow.

We’d stayed here off and on for years, with only minor problems before, but we won’t be back. We should have been warned about the roof work directly above our rooms. The banging woke us at 6 a.m., and when I stepped outside, the workers laughed at me while drinking beers. My husband asked the desk clerk what could be done, but she said we couldn’t check out and could only change rooms. With the work happening over us, changing rooms didn’t seem useful. They later moved building supplies over our cars with a forklift. The next morning, a loud generator was placed outside our rooms early and left running. We couldn’t hear each other, let alone rest before hours of driving. Breakfast was almost nonexistent: cereal, yogurt, and an empty waffle batter machine. The room carpet was so bad my grandsons’ feet turned brown walking barefoot. Apart from that, the rooms were clean enough.

I’ve spent the past week calling on different days to cancel a room I paid for in June for a September stay. I keep being told the manager isn’t there, whatever time I call, and my messages have been ignored. Getting a manager on the phone seems impossible. Hope you have a good stay, because reaching one is another story.

We never got the refund, even though the desk employee said it would be issued within 5-7 days. The booking agency said we wouldn’t get anything back because Quality Inn hadn’t initiated it on their end. We were driving late at night with family and booked online because hardly anywhere nearby had rooms. I checked both rooms before letting my family out of the car. One smelled strongly of smoke and had bug larvae stuck to the walls all along the baseboards. In the other, I pulled back the mattress cover and found a moldy, mildew-looking substance all over the mattress and frame. I told the desk we wouldn’t stay, and they promised a full refund. I’m glad I inspected the rooms first. Worst hotel or motel experience of my life.
