The room was cozy, spotless, and lovely, and we felt really looked after with the daily cleaning and evening turn-down, complete with chocolates. They also offered wine each night, and on the cold evenings there was a fire going. We were there during Hurricane Sandy, and the owners stayed calm and prepared. We didn't need to do anything, but it was reassuring to know we could have if necessary. Breakfast was fantastic. I'm gluten-free, and Judith worked around that and even offered to buy gluten-free items. If you have an allergy or food preference, it's best to tell your hosts ahead of time so they have time to prepare. My husband and I spent our honeymoon weekend at Cedar Spring Inn and absolutely loved it. The owners were helpful with winery suggestions and good places to eat, while still giving us space. We've already talked about coming back and told our family about the place. We'd recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet, cozy getaway.

The location feels tucked out in the countryside, though Charlottesville is only a 10-15 minute drive away. The grounds are very well kept, and our room had plenty of space, a comfortable bed, and a wonderful shower. We also enjoyed unwinding in the outdoor hot tub and pool, and the little sweets left on the bed each night were a lovely touch. Judy and Charles were warm and welcoming hosts from the moment we arrived. I came away from our recent stay at Cedar Spring Inn with a very positive impression, and would recommend others consider staying here.

In June 2017 we stayed upstairs, with access from inside. After dinner, we came back to sparkling grape juice, since Judy knows we prefer nonalcoholic wine and drinks. Breakfast the first morning was just as good as we'd come to expect: homemade mini bread, fried eggs and shredded cheese over hash browns, fresh-cut peppers, and sausage. Judy makes breakfast really well, and Charles and his assistant or assistants took good care of us at the table. We had another excellent bed-and-breakfast stay. Back in June 2016, we found Charles and Judy very, very nice, and the property was lovely too. Getting there does mean driving along a private dirt road or trail through the woods.

The owners made breakfast the next morning feel like a visit with old friends, with great food and conversation. The evening before, we went to happy hour and enjoyed a bottle of wine before dinner. Even though it was freezing, we ventured into the jacuzzi and loved soaking in the heat with the mountains and secluded surroundings all to ourselves. There were deer right outside our clean, comfortable room, too. My husband and I had come from San Diego and had just 24 hours before a funeral in Richmond. Since it was also our anniversary, we made a quick stop in Charlottesville, a place we'd never visited, and I'm so glad we chose this inn. Judy and her husband were wonderful and made the short getaway feel just right. They kindly let us arrive early and leave a little later after our red-eye flight. I only wish we'd had more time. We highly recommend Cedar Spring Inn and will make a point of returning the next time we're visiting family in VA. Thank you both!

Judy's breakfast was a highlight, with delicious choices served in a really elegant way. The inn itself is impressive but still cozy and comfortable, and Judy and Charles were delightful hosts. We stayed three nights at this beautiful place, and our room was spotless, tastefully decorated, and had high-end bedding with crisp, ironed sheets. Five stars, and we can't wait to come back!
