Edit: I eventually spoke with the GM Kaylene, who was pleasant and comped us a future room. Thank you, Kaylene. We booked a room for my elderly father-in-law while we were in town for a family member’s funeral. He’s a very sweet, easygoing man who uses oxygen and can’t get around without a walker. We hoped he could have a quiet place to relax after his sister passed away and watch TV, since there isn’t much else he can do now. When he arrived, the TV didn’t work. The front desk came to check it, unplugged it, and left without fixing the problem. There were plenty of rooms available that night, so they could easily have offered another room or swapped TVs. We booked through Orbitz, whose staff were kind and said they’d contact the owner and get back to us. When they did, they said the owner refused to make any changes. We also contacted Marriott, since this wasn’t their standard, and they filed a complaint and said he would respond. The owner didn’t respond or try to make things right. I was also concerned that the business doesn’t appear on the Better Business Bureau. I review businesses regularly and have never written one like this. Don’t expect a quality hotel standard here. There are other places that uphold their standards, respond, treat people kindly, and care about return business. I’ll pursue this until the owner takes accountability. Otherwise, I have a large platform and will make sure my followers know how rude the owner who franchises this location is. In short, stay somewhere else.
