Apgar Lookout Suites

We came for a quiet stay and instead heard the street below, every delivery truck, and construction starting at 6:30 each morning. The trucks were left idling, so their exhaust smell came up, and breakfast smells drifted through the floor from the restaurant directly below the suite. For four days in Apgar Suite no 1, the noise felt surprisingly urban for a place we’d chosen for peace. At $600 a night, we felt the advertising had misled us. We raised all of this and got a 10% discount, but it came too late and felt like too little. There were some lovely parts: the Montana scenery was epic, and the Craftsman decor had plenty of wood, high ceilings, a fireplace, a well-designed kitchen, and a roomy bathroom. Wireless was available. Still, reaching the lobby meant climbing a flight and a half of stairs, with no elevator, and the construction site next door made the stay very problematic for the price.
