Americas Best Value Inn Aiken

I’ve been staying here for a few months without any problems. The owner is really nice, and housekeeping has been great. It’s still a work in progress, but I can see things coming together.

The room had mold and mildew around the tub, and the smoke detector was sitting on the dresser. I’d paid a $50 deposit for a nonsmoking room, but it smelled like someone had just put out a cigar. There were pictures on the floor by the bed, too. The employees were awful, and this is the worst hotel I’ve ever booked. Don’t trust the photos like I did. Honestly, I’d recommend demolishing this dump.

When I arrived, the room was disgusting and hadn’t been cleaned. First I was told my reserved room wasn’t available, then I was told it was. They said someone would come clean it in a few minutes, but after an hour, a staff member rudely told me they were short-staffed and I’d have to keep waiting. The staff were extremely rude. I wouldn’t let my enemy’s dog stay here.

We stayed for a month, then the morning desk guy rented our room to someone else and made us leave, claiming there was no vacancy. But he rented a room to the person right behind me. I’d thought he was a nice guy at first, but I also found out he makes advances toward women when they’re having trouble paying for their room.
