Quality Inn & Suites Aiken South

Breakfast was a real highlight, especially the bacon and sausage, and the coffee felt like it brought me back to life. The beds were wonderful, and the shower was cozy with lovely warm water. I arrived unexpectedly at the last minute, in a time of need, and the staff were kinder than I expected. They even let me check in early with my furry companion and made both of us feel welcome.

We’d been staying at Quality Inn & Suites Aiken South for work for over a week, with a reservation through Friday. But on Wednesday after 11 a.m., during a shift change mistake, staff removed all our belongings because they thought checkout was that day. Among the things taken out was my prescription medication, which needed refrigeration. They left it outside the fridge, and I lost $800 worth of controlled medication. Management showed no empathy or responsibility. The owner was extremely rude and seemed to care only about money, with no respect for guests. A cleaning staff member was gossiping at the desk and falsely said we were trying to “find a way to stay without paying.” It was humiliating. The breakfast is poor, service disrespectful, and management unprofessional. I’d never recommend this place. Stay somewhere guests get basic respect and decency.

After booking two rooms eight months ahead, I got a cancellation notice six months later. Demand had risen, and it seemed management canceled existing reservations to charge new customers more. When I called, the clerk called it a “system error,” though that conveniently matched the manager’s instruction that everyone would need to rebook at the new rate, three times the original price. My reservation clearly didn’t mean much. The glowing reviews had mentioned “amenities” like bugs, stained sheets, mold, broken furniture, no breakfast, doors that don’t lock, and strangers entering rooms at night. Sounds like quite a stay. Save yourself the hassle, and maybe a tetanus shot. A gas station bathroom would be five stars next to this clown show. Stay classy, “Quality” Inn.

The room was filthy. I had to get the bed cover changed, and the bathroom and the rest of the place were still dirty and uncleaned. Disgusting.
