Towneplace Suites by Marriott Aiken Whiskey Road

My husband travels all over the US for work, and this TownePlace Suites by Mariott in Aiken SC is by far the best place we’ve stayed. The staff are phenomenal, it’s so well run and above and beyond clean. Nothing out of place, and all new appliances. We love it and highly recommend staying here!

For a very short stay, it’s barely passable. If you’re staying for an intermediate or long stretch, forget it. The rooms are very dirty, the staff quite churlish, and management is inept, couldn’t run a lemonade stand. I’m guessing the lack of competition in the area is why, because this level of service wouldn’t pass in a major metropolitan area. My advice: please go somewhere else. Any other hotel is better. Better advice: don’t go to Aiken.

It’s an older hotel, but the room was clean and comfortable. No complaints.

I asked the hotel manager to call me, but they never did. Maybe this review will have more impact if they aren’t interested in listening. The internet didn’t work, and they gave me a third-party company’s number. The company wanted my personal information to connect me. The attendant said they’d been doing this “for a while now.” It’s terrible when you can’t work without internet, and they didn’t mention the problem when I booked. There were also “little hairs” in and around the shower, so it hadn’t been cleaned. The seating had uncomfortable stains too.
