Days Inn & Suites by Wyndham Spokane Airport Airway Heights

I booked and paid through Expedia, but a few hours later the hotel called asking me to pay again. I asked if it was for a deposit or incidentals, and the woman said they had no payment showing and that Expedia would release the hold if I paid them. I knew that wasn’t true. She also said that because I had a local address and it was the weekend, the local owners required a $200 cash deposit. I understand having policies, but that felt excessive, especially when she said they only did this to locals. It struck me as discriminatory. After several calls with the desk, I contacted Expedia because I was concerned this might be fraudulent. Their representative brought in a supervisor, who called the hotel directly and sorted it out. I checked in after that. The woman at the desk was nice, but they still wanted the $200 cash deposit as well as a card on file for incidentals. I understand the card, but the cash deposit never sat right with me. The king suite with the Jacuzzi tub was dirty, and I had to spend time cleaning it. When I turned it on, it started leaking. I paid $150 for one night, which is far too much for the quality. I’ve never had this sort of experience at a hotel, local or while traveling. I really think Wyndham Days Inn corporate should investigate these local owners.

The room itself was great, but our first night the upstairs jacuzzi flooded half our suite. They had to come clean it up in the middle of the night. The next night, people were blasting music outside our room, then the fire alarm went off at 3am. Happy birthday to me!

The place was very clean and quiet, and I’d recommend it to friends. The people were friendly, knew what they were doing, and seemed to enjoy working there. Breakfast wasn’t five star food, but compared with other motels in the area, it was far and away the best: hot, easy, and no hassle. The room and service were great. My only complaint was the metal bed frame. I kept kicking it whenever I got close, and it made a loud noise, like sheet metal underneath.

For $100, this was a clean, safe, well equipped place to stay after a late arrival and before an early departure. Breakfast was good, and the airport shuttle costs $2.50. Everyone was friendly. That’s an easy five stars from me.
