James and Chantell have been great to me, my family, and our friends every time, always friendly, communicative, and ready to help. Last weekend, when my trailer got into trouble on the metal bridge over an ice heave near shore, they quickly gathered their crew and did everything they could. They even tried to cross the crack with their track loader and nearly dropped it in the water. After several attempts we got it out, and they helped fix my trailer too. They wouldn’t take payment, just thanked me for my business. They’re the kind of people I want to do business with, and this is absolutely our go-to resort on Mille Lacs lake. I highly recommend them. Thanks, team.

The pool and sauna were great additions this year. We enjoyed our first stay at Red Door so much that we booked a return for year two, even requesting the same cabin. When we arrived, we learned a storm a few nights earlier had knocked a tree onto a car right in front of that cabin. We moved to another one so the car could be cleared and towed without us being in the way. The staff were friendly, accommodating, and incredibly helpful throughout. This visit turned out even better than we expected, with some of the best customer service I’ve experienced.

Sherry at the front desk is absolutely excellent, and the staff and rooms are great too. It’s a beautiful place, and I’m looking forward to going back in summer so we can swim. I’d recommend the red door for any occasion.

The office area feels like a missed opportunity. There’s a small bar that isn’t open, what looks like a kitchen that’s also closed, and a deck. They could be serving beers and cocktails to tired fishermen, but the space sits unused. Seems like a lot of potential revenue is being missed.
