The room had thoughtful features I haven't seen at much pricier chain motels, and the compound itself is very pleasing. It was just as restful and serene as advertised. The drive from Tucson along highway 86 is worth it, and this place makes a stay in Ajo feel like a destination.

We were passing through while visiting National Parks, and really enjoyed staying here. I believe it's a former school that's been converted, which made it feel a bit different. The room was lovely and large, the inner courtyard had seating, and the few staff we encountered seemed super friendly.

Loved the decor and the outdoor plaza, and the gift shop was fascinating. The coffee in the morning was great too. We didn't even mind that our room had no TV or that there wasn't a restaurant.

Just a heads-up, they don't do housekeeping every day. Still, the rooms were clean, the beds comfortable, and it was peaceful and quiet. Probably the best place to stay in Ajo.

We only got to spend one night there on our way to Tucson, which was a shame. The room was comfortable, the staff were great, and the place was AWESOME.
