Hampton Inn & Suites Alachua I-75

I gave up after 3.5 hours of trying to sort this out and found another hotel for my group. Four hours later, the groups department emailed to offer the rooms at $185 each, still $40 above the original rate. I never heard back from the head manager, even though I'd asked to speak with them. A week before our event, I contacted the Hampton Inn and Suites Alachua groups department. They quoted $149 per room and said they had ten 2 Queen rooms. I emailed that day to confirm, then waited two days for a response to calls and emails. After five emails, five calls, and several voicemails, I finally reached someone, who said they didn't have the rooms they'd offered and would raise the rate to $225 because prices had gone up. They wouldn't honor the price we'd agreed on. I've never had a hotel give me a quote and then change the price because it wanted more profit. Honoring an agreed price matters more than inflating prices. Be careful choosing this hotel, especially for a group.

Our room was excellent, clean and spacious, and the greeting on the TV was a nice touch. Aylssa gave us great tips for quickly finding a swimsuit for the heated pool when my partner and I visited for a wedding. The hallways smelled clean, and breakfast was okay. Highly recommended if you're in the area.

We arrived Tuesday at 7:00 pm and had to wait because the rooms weren't ready. Our room wasn't cleaned at all during the four nights we were there, and there was a very large roach on the fourth floor near the ice machine. The Friday night charge was $400, a big surprise that we weren't told about. They should inform customers when they make the reservation. For a Hilton Hotel, this was below average. Very upsetting. We don't recommend it and will NEVER stay again.

The breakfast wasn't good, and the pillows were comically thin, so ask the front desk for an extra set. Our AC made a loud grinding sound all night, even after I turned it off. The front desk associate said this had been happening with a lot of their units lately. We couldn't sleep at all. Not a good stay.
